We are seeking a highly qualified Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team at our Niagara Falls facility. This position is critical for overseeing and implementing health safety and environmental programs that ensure compliance with industryspecific regulations and promote a safe workplace. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience in the building materials sector and possess the necessary certifications to manage hazardous materials and environmental compliance effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive safety and environmental programs tailored to the building materials industry.
Ensure compliance with all OSHA EPA and local regulations focusing on hazardous materials management and industrial safety.
Conduct routine inspections to identify safety risks and implement corrective measures.
Lead investigations of EHS incidents and provide detailed reports with corrective actions.
Train and mentor employees on EHS policies focusing on industryspecific protocols and procedures.
Manage hazardous materials and ensure compliance with proper handling storage and disposal.
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS management role specifically within the building materials industry or closely related sectors (glass ceramics concrete etc.).
Certifications: Proven expertise in OSHA compliance with additional certifications in hazardous materials management and environmental safety relevant to the building materials industry.
Skills: Strong leadership communication and problemsolving abilities with handson experience in managing environmental compliance and industrial safety protocols.
MustHave Criteria:
Industry Experience: Candidates must have direct experience in EHS management within the building materials sector. Experience in industries like food production or general manufacturing will not be considered relevant unless directly applicable to building materials.
Specialized Certifications: We require candidates to hold certifications in OSHA compliance and hazardous materials management specifically geared towards the building materials industry. General EHS certifications are not sufficient unless they include a focus on the handling of materials and processes relevant to our sector.
Proven Track Record: Ideal candidates will have successfully implemented EHS programs in an industrial manufacturing environment with a focus on hazardous materials and environmental compliance.
