Job Description
This is a remote position.
Fulltime
Monday to Friday 8am 5pm PST(11:00 PM to 8:00 AM Manila Time) with 1 hour break (8 paid hours per day)
Overview:
The Cost Accountant will be supporting cost accounting financial reporting and
analysis monthend financial closing and audit.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Participate in monthend closing including analyzing purchase price and order variances. Work with operations to resolve any identified errors.
Prepare and input Journal Entries.
Analyze inventory accounting and COGS to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive cost accounting policies and procedures
Direct the development and maintenance of costing models that adhere to industry best practices
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of product cost data. Includes:
Updating/Reviewing standard costs including BOMs
Work with purchasing/product control teams on obtaining new material and packaging costs and inputting into Dutchie.
Estimate standard costs for new products
Inventory Management
Assist with conducting and reviewing cycle count/physical
inventories at the retail farm and warehouse locations
Ensure proper reserves for obsolete. shrinkage and lower of cost or market
Maintain cost workbooks
Reconcile inventory (METRC/Dutchie POS systems) to general ledger.
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations. Manage open items to resolution
Assist in documenting procedures as needed.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of inventory COGS and other financial data
Assist and manage various ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
Qualifications/Skillsets:
- Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance required
- 5 years of experience in cost accounting preferably in the retail or agricultural industry
- Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to apply knowledge of GAAP & Cost Accounting Standards
- Ability to research compile analyze and interpret large amounts of data
- Experience with Excel
- Exposure to an ERP system with subledgers (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry
- Ability to pivot and work in a fastpaced environment
