Job Description
Our organization is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher who will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to support students with a variety of learning needs in a selfcontained classroom. The proper candidate is someone who can work closely with parents caregivers and colleagues to create personalized learning experiences that address each students unique abilities and challenges. This role also involves attending school districtprovided professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices and enhance teaching strategies.
Position Highlights:
- Craft Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with other teachers parents and professionals to create a supportive environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings providing insight and updates on student progress and adjustments needed.
- Monitor and document student progress adapting educational plans as necessary to promote effective learning.
- Manage classroom behavior using effective compassionate strategies that promote respect and positive interactions.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education.
- Strong communication organizational and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
