Job Description
The Elementary Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering personalized education plans (IEPs) to support young students with varying learning needs in a selfcontained classroom. Were seeking a candidate who can actively engage with parents caregivers and fellow educators to create effective individualized learning strategies that cater to each students unique challenges. The position also involves attending school district professional development sessions to stay current on best practices and continuously improve teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a supportive and structured classroom environment.
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students needs.
- Maintain accurate records of students progress and IEP goals.
- Conduct assessments to determine students educational needs and progress.
- Modify curriculum and instruction methods to accommodate students varying needs.
- Provide emotional and social support to students promoting a positive learning experience.
- Work closely with general education teachers specialists and families to support students learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Illinois teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students effectively staff and families.
