Job Description

Overview:


The role of a Senior Property Tax Analyst is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely management of property tax compliance and minimizing the organizations tax liabilities. This position plays a vital role in evaluating property assessments researching tax laws and providing financial analysis to support property tax planning.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate and analyze property assessments and tax liabilities.
  • Research tax laws statutes and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and review property tax returns and supporting documentation.
  • Provide support for property tax audits and appeals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial and property data for tax reporting.
  • Assess and mitigate property tax risks and identify taxsaving opportunities.
  • Communicate with taxing authorities and external tax advisors regarding tax matters.
  • Review and reconcile property tax assessments and payments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of property tax strategies.
  • Conduct financial analysis to forecast property tax expenses and liabilities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to property tax compliance.
  • Participate in tax planning and compliance projects as needed.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation and assess the impact on property tax obligations.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior tax analysts and support staff.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures while performing job duties.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in property tax analysis or related tax field.
  • Strong understanding of property tax laws regulations and assessment practices.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of tax reporting requirements and compliance standards.
  • Ability to conduct indepth research and analysis of taxrelated issues.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detailoriented with strong problemsolving abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Professional certification such as CMI CMIB or relevant credentials is a plus.
  • Experience working with property tax software systems is preferred.
  • Proven track record of building effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong ethics and integrity in handling confidential tax information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tax laws and regulatory requirements.
