Job Description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HR function including recruitment employee relations payroll benefits and policy enforcement. This position also manages the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) operations and the DOT driver program ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe working environment. Serving as a key liaison between employees and management the HR Manager plays a critical role in fostering a positive and compliant workplace. This position reports directly to the General Manager of the Berlin facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Staffing:
    Lead recruitment efforts across all levels of the organization manage employee onboarding and oversee separations.
  • HR Administration:
    Administer the Employee Handbook ensure adherence to company policies and manage employee attendance payroll and benefits including health dental 401(k) COBRA and more.
  • Employee Relations:
    Act as a resource for employees to address concerns resolve complaints and answer HRrelated questions. Bridge management and employee relations by handling grievances and other issues.
  • Performance Management:
    Ensure timely performance reviews support employee development and assist department managers in handling employee issues.
  • Health & Safety:
    Oversee EH&S operations including monitoring chemical physical and biological hazards conducting safety inspections and implementing safety measures for equipment and materials.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA and DOT regulations. Develop and monitor emergency action plans and manage hazardous material communications.
  • Training & Development:
    Facilitate worker training on safety health and environmental issues and support the companys compliance programs by investigating accidents and preparing reports.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Contribute to process improvements including creating Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for new and existing processes managing equipment maintenance and implementing systems to track and evaluate worker injuries.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    Collaborate on the Company Spotlight Award program communicate incident information across company divisions and support other HR and EH&Srelated initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum 710 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in ADP payroll systems and knowledge of OFCCP regulations.
    • Experience with OSHA and EPA workplace regulations and EH&S principles.
  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong employee relations and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • Indepth understanding of labor and employment law and HR best practices.
    • Experience with HR systems databases and compliance requirements for Export Control (22 C.F.R. 120.15).
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently under pressure.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
    • Excellent communication active listening and problemsolving abilities.
    • Accountability adaptability and a commitment to meeting deadlines and achieving highquality outcomes.

Work Authorization:
Applicants must meet the definition of a US person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 for Export Control compliance requirements.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: Frequent standing walking and sitting with occasional use of hands for handling and reaching. Vision abilities required include close and distance vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: Primarily officebased (75%) with some time spent in manufacturing areas (25%). Moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
