Hiring Range: $75285 $98000

This position is eligible for a 5% bilingual differential if the successful candidate meets standard on an oral proficiency exam.

Your responsibilities:

  • Taking a lead role in developing implementing and reporting on the organizations equity goals plans and outcomes.
  • Collaborating with the leadership team and managers to integrate diversity equity inclusion and belonging practices into the organizations work practices and program goals.
  • Leading the organizations strategies for staff support and development.
  • Supporting managers and employees by providing advice counsel and decisions concerning HR policies procedures programs and issues.
  • Leading compensation strategy responding to wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates and administering pay equity program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Identifying recommending and implementing competitive benefit plans that align with the organizations goals and culture.
  • Identifying legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies procedures and reporting are in compliance.
  • Leading and implementing the organizations human resource systems practice and policies.
  • Ensuring employee handbook remains legally compliant and updated with the most recent organizational policies.
  • Preparing and monitoring Human Resource budget.
  • Guiding management and employee actions by researching developing writing and updating policies procedures methods and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organizational values.
  • Supervising the Volunteer Manager and overseeing and support a comprehensive strategy to recruit engage retain and recognize volunteers. Ensure the plan advances the organizations strategies to increase engagement and deepen relationships with individuals new target audiences and affiliated organizations.
  • Overseeing and supporting a comprehensive strategy of vocational training participant engagement. Ensuring the plan provides a meaningful work experience that attracts qualified participants and assists participants in gaining relevant professional skills.
  • Overseeing the front desk staff and management of the front office.
  • Serving on the Leadership Team along with the President & CEO VPs and other Directors helping to guide organizational direction and culture.

Job Conditions:

Work is performed in a variety of office environments and other locations inside and outside while using a telephone and sitting at a computer screen for extended periods. May lift move and carry objects up to 40 pounds such as boxes containing materials and other supplies. Will work or travel out of the local area and work outside normal working hours such as evenings and weekends on occasion. Occasional overnight travel. Willing to drive personal vehicle for business purposes.

Hybrid work may be available for this position (one or two days a week). All hybrid work assignments begin end or change only with supervisory approval.

The organization provides essential services to our neighbors in Marion and Polk counties. As a result all organization employees may be asked to report to work during local public health weather or other environmental emergencies.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function and physical demand satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

All candidates will need:

  • Ability to assess and deliver innovative and customeroriented HR volunteer management and vocational training solutions.
  • Demonstrated capability in establishing and leading a people and organization strategy to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems and the ability to operate a personal computer in a networked environment.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and a commitment to engagement in diversity equity inclusion and belonging work
  • Care and concern about foodinsecurity in our community and a desire to make a difference.
  • Ability to effectively present and speak before small to large groups.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with multiple changing priorities while delivering quality service within narrow time limitations.
  • Must pass preemployment drug screen (excluding THC) and full background check including eligibility to work with vulnerable populations.
  • Must pass driving record check and be insurable through vehicle insurance policy.

  • A Bachelors degree with a minimum of five years of Human Resources experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Human Resources certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute or the Society for Human Resource Management.
  • Prior experience leading HR departments.
  • Proven success in leading the development and implementation of HR strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience working on relationships with staff and supervisors and supporting and developing supervisors.
  • Prior experience leading diversity equity inclusion justice and belonging.
  • Demonstrated successful management experience including effective development coaching and mentoring of employees and teams.
