Position Details:

• Working Hours: 40 hours weekly from Monday to Friday
• Student Age Group: Grade 3 8

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to students as needed
• Oversee procedures to address special health needs or disabilities of students
• Perform screenings for eyesight hearing scoliosis and obesity
• Support staff in response to student crises or healthrelated issues
• Plan and implement programs that proactively address student and staff health needs
• Document services provided
• Collect and distribute information about resources and services that will help students and their families maintain good health
• Track attendance information
• Coordinate healthrelated special education evaluations and services
• Participate in Pupil Assistance Committee (PAC) meetings as needed
• Participate in 504 plan meetings as needed
• Actively participate in the school community and support the school’s mission

Qualifications:

• Certification as a School Nurse or enrolled in a School Nurse certification program
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Experience providing health care to children in a school setting
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• The ability to communicate clearly and empathically with children and adults
• Strong writing skills
• Knowledge of New Jersey School Nursing statutes regulations procedures and practices
• Familiarity with the medical and psychological services available to students and families in our region
