Commissioning Engineer

Commisioning Engineer p rovides engineering support on project(s); assignments are of moderate to high technical complexity and scope and require minimal oversight from a Senior or Principal Service Engineer.

May act in a Field Service Engineer capacity on projects with professional (customer-facing) capabilities, Engineering, Testing, site installation, Commissioning, servicing, training, troubleshooting where the work requires system-level knowledge and may require oversight from a Senior or Principal Service Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
• Interprets customer technical specifications and assists customer in defining detailed application, system, and hardware requirements
• Prepares detailed hardware and software specifications on Schneider Electric products.
• Develops software and completes all necessary documentation to meet requirements of the application specifications
• Monitors and controls packaging created by Application Engineers
• Works with third-party vendors to ensure compatibility with solution
• Coordinates and/or participates in on-site engineering, start-up and system commissioning
• Provides technical leadership in customer acceptance and application testing, including defining the requirements and supervising installation and wiring of all testing equipment
• Collaborate with Engineers to complete and monitors quality of team’s deliverables
• Ensure quality and accuracy of work performed.
• Interfaces with Back office resources to ensure high-quality and accurate deliverables
• Performs installation, startup and commissioning of Schneider Electric products at the system level
• Troubleshoots hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and determines the most effective repair/resolution.
• Prepares site progress reports and defect reports detailing product failure trends and service reliability issues
• Anticipates potential changes in project deliverables and timing and makes the Lead Engineer aware of a potential need to re-contract or secure additional engineering resources
• Identifies risk factors on various applications and makes the Project Manager and Lead Engineer aware of possible challenges and potential solutions
• Plan and execute the DCS and/or Safety/FSG/HIPPS system requirements associated with pre-SAT readiness activities, Site Acceptance Test (SAT), SAT punch list close out and commissioning.
• Implement site/tie-in activity modification in system based on approved design documents
• Implement site modification in graphics and IO database logic configuration on Foxboro DCS and/or Triconex Safety/FGS/HIPPS systems based on approved design documents
• Supervise and get existing system/marshalling/network/PDB cabinet modified based on approved design documents
• Capture all changes as red mark on approved design documents
• Be proactive in approach, follow the procedure and be part of a wider team
• Oversee quality control and HSE on site
• Ensure that all materials used, and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
• Shall be flexible in work timings as the job is on site and is critical in nature.
• Shall abide by the site processes in terms of permits, safety requirements.
• Shall be flexible for travel.
