Job Title: Payroll Assistant 2Location: Newport News VAShift: First Shift (7:30 AM 4:00 PM) available Sunday through SaturdayPosition Type: Contract (6 months)Job Description:We are seeking a Payroll Assistant to perform a variety of tasks to support payroll processing. In this role you will be responsible for:Reviewing timekeeping records and processing exception items.Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll deductions wage calculations and compensation changes.Preparing compiling and maintaining payroll and statistical records.Manually calculating wages for temporary work bonuses vacations terminations and special payroll requirements.Assisting with documentation filing and keying payroll data into the system.Answering phone calls identifying payrollrelated issues and forwarding them to the appropriate team member.Qualifications:High school diploma with at least 2 years of additional education and/or experience.Strong organizational skills ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet tight deadlines.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Team player with attention to detail.Why Join Us:This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment contributing to the smooth operation of payroll processes during a busy production period.
