Key Responsibilities:

• Migration Planning: Partner with the clients internal team to develop a detailed migration plan from WhereScape to Microsoft Synapse. This includes defining timelines allocating resources and identifying potential risks with mitigation strategies.
• Data Mart Migration: Oversee the migration of data marts from the current onpremise data warehouse to Microsoft Synapse ensuring high levels of data integrity accuracy and security throughout the process.
• Performance Optimization: Apply best practices for optimizing the performance of the Synapse data warehouse including techniques like data partitioning indexing and query performance tuning.
• Technical Consulting: Offer expert advice on utilizing Microsoft Synapse features such as data integration analytics and business intelligence tools to fully leverage the platforms capabilities.
• Documentation & Training: Produce comprehensive documentation of the migration process and deliver training sessions to the clients team to ensure a seamless transition and effective ongoing management of the new data warehouse.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehouse migrations particularly transitioning from onpremise environments to cloudbased platforms.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Synapse including architecture design implementation and performance optimization.
• Handson experience planning and executing data warehouse migrations especially from WhereScape or similar platforms to Microsoft Synapse.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in SQL ETL processes data modeling and cloud data warehousing technologies.
• Experience migrating data marts into Microsoft Synapse.
• Familiarity with Data Factory/ETL data flows into Azure Data Lake.
• Strong understanding of Azure storage tier options specifically for data marts with sentiment layers (e.g. timebased layers).
• Ability to craft a comprehensive migration strategy to Microsoft Synapse.
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
