Job Description
We are looking to hire a fulltime Special Education Teacher for the current academic year. This role guarantees fulltime hours through the end of the school year with the possibility of renewal depending on performance. The teacher will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying learning needs in a selfcontained classroom. We are seeking a candidate who excels at working collaboratively with parents caregivers and colleagues to create wellrounded educational strategies that address each students unique challenges. Participation in school districtprovided professional development sessions is also required.
Daily responsibilities for this position include:
- Monitoring and assessing student progress adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Developing and adapting lesson plans to meet the needs of students with diverse abilities.
- Managing classroom behavior and maintaining a structured supportive learning environment.
- Communicating regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress.
- Providing direct instruction in small group or oneonone settings based on students IEP goals.
- Maintaining accurate and uptodate records for IEP documentation and student performance.Collaborating with support staff such as speech and occupational therapists to integrate specialized services.
Requirements
- Strong communication organizational and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education with LBS1 endorsement.
- Patience empathy and a passion for working with students with diverse needs.
