Position Summary:
The Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing the companys tax reporting and compliance within the United States and/or internationally. This role includes preparing and filing tax returns ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations and providing strategic tax planning advice. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills indepth knowledge of tax regulations and a proactive approach to identifying taxsaving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal state and local tax returns including income sales property and other tax types.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct research on tax issues and provide guidance on taxrelated matters including potential tax law changes.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting and resolve any taxrelated issues.
- Assist in the preparation and review of tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies including analyzing and implementing tax strategies.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of tax regulations and industry best practices.
- Support the preparation of responses to tax authorities and manage audits as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures.
- Perform other accounting duties and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA or EA certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in tax accounting preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Strong knowledge of federal state and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax preparation software TurboTax ProSeries Lacerte and accounting software QuickBooks SAP Oracle or etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to nontax professionals.
