As a Junior Narrative Designer at Funcom you will join the narrative team on Dune Awakening. We are looking for someone who can adapt quickly to our tools and processes and can bring energy and enthusiasm to the process of setting up the structure and flow of dialogues in the game. Junior Narrative Designers need to be proactive analytical and creative with excellent communication skills. You will be onboarded and mentored by the Senior Narrative Designer of the team and will be given the opportunity to leave your mark on the project. This is a fastpaced environment but we prioritize a healthy worklife balance above all else.
Contribute to shape design and implement storylines and narrative content iterating with writers narrative and content designers
Work in a crossdisciplinary team to pitch design and implement narrative features
Develop an expertise in open world storytelling and providing scaleproof solution to creative problems
Comfort with branching dialogue and nodebased software
A positive attitude towards taking direction and constructive criticism
Selfmotivation to collaborate and drive change in a studio environment
Can keep up with multiple topics in a fastpaced environment
Ability to think critically while resolving complex issues
An eye for cinematic framing and animation
Familiarity with localization pipelines
Basic knowledge of version control
OPTIONAL: One year of experience in the game industry working in a design capacity
OPTIONAL: A game design degree
Experience with at least one game engine (with a preference for the Unreal Engine)
A crossdisciplinary understanding of design processes including game design level design and content design
Good communicator
Knows how to maintain clean and organized documentation
Project Responsibilities:
You will support the development and polish of several narrative features
You will contribute to design and implement new content and features for future updates
You will collaborate with many specialists across several teams to bring content and features to the best quality possible taking their and your own constraints into consideration
You will write and maintain documentation for our content and features checking regularly to ensure that everything remains up to date
