Category Manager

Our multinational client who provides a diverse range of decorative products requires an experienced Category Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager you will primarily be responsible for procuring and managing specific product categories.

Requirements:

• Develop longterm strategies for product category growth and development

• Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products

• Develop and manage budget and revenue for the product categories

• Analyze data and insights to identify industry and consumer trends

• Forecast product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure better pricing and quality of services

• Place orders for products to ensure that product availability matches consumer demand

• Position product categories strategically to maximize visibility

• Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities for the product categories

• Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories

Requirements

• Must have at least an HND in Marketing or a related field

• Must have at least two (2) years of working experience in the same or similar role

• Work experience in the retail Industry is an added advantage

• Proficient working knowledge of category management marketing and sales principles

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience with data analysis and forecasting methods

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical skills
