Job Description

Overview

The F&B Steward plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the food and beverage department within the organization. They are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness organization and service to ensure a positive dining experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all F&B areas equipment and utensils.
  • Assist in the setting up and breaking down of F&B outlets buffets and special event areas.
  • Monitor and maintain proper sanitation and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
  • Assist in receiving storing and stocking F&B supplies and inventory.
  • Handle guest inquiries requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Support F&B service staff during peak hours and special events.
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality control procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of F&B offerings.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless food service delivery.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks in F&B areas.
  • Conduct inventory checks and report any shortages or damages to management.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures and POS system operations as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures including uniform standards and grooming.
  • Participate in training and development programs as required.
  • Assist in implementing new initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or food service certification is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a similar F&B stewarding role or entrylevel F&B position.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with guests and colleagues courteously.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks such as lifting carrying and cleaning.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities and guest needs.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling procedures.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer proficiency is preferred.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
  • Understanding of and adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Professional appearance and grooming in line with organizational standards.
