As Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/d) in our team you will improve and extend our product with endtoend responsibility. You are involved in everything from research coding testing and deploying to documentation.

Your mission

• Maintenance and further development of our existing Koalect services
• Technical (and related product) research for extending the current set of features on Koalect services
• You share your findings with other team membersincluding documentation
• Operational tasks in keeping Koalect stable incl. monitoring and OnCall duty (additionally compensated)
• CrossTeam coordination to bring new features live e.g. with EventHub UserManagement Tamaro
• Ensure code quality by performing code reviews and coaching junior team members
• Educate the team about your experience by creating learning paths & organising knowledge sharing sessions

Your profile

• Proficiency in the ecosystem of Ruby on Rails
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and eventdriven systems (designing and reasoning)
• Proficiency in AWS (EC2 ECS EBS RDS) and ER database systems like PostgreSQL
• Good knowledge of docker and docker compose
• Familiar with unit and functional testing as well as code reviews git workflows and continuous delivery approach
• Fluent in written and verbal English (at least C1)
• Striving for simplicity and when its not possible keeping an eye on the devil in the details

Nice to have:

• Knowledge with Bitbucket CI pipelines
• Experience with server administrations (linux) bash scripting

Your learnings

Youll become an expert in Koalect concepts. In particular

• knowing the inner workings of existing Koalect services by heart
• having a thorough understanding on how to integrate a new initiative by applying your knowledge to existing integrations or updating existing ones
• being able to assess complexity of changes to existing or new services quickly
