Job Description
Bilingual Mortgage Underwriter Remote
We are seeking an experienced Bilingual Mortgage Underwriter for our client in the insurance industry specifically within the Mortgage Origination (Underwriting) Group. This role offers the chance to develop deep expertise in mortgage underwriting while supporting businessasusual activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing residential mortgage applications and ensuring adherence to internal guidelines.

12month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Responsibilities:
Review and assess mortgage documents submitted by sales partners ensuring they comply with internal standards.
Document files meticulously for accurate reporting and maintain comprehensive records.
Communicate effectively with sales partners providing clear and professional feedback.
Process a high volume of files with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Manage the underwriting process for residential mortgage applications exercising sound financial judgment within delegated authority limits.
Collaborate closely with salespersons to manage files and ensure smooth communication.
What you will need to succeed:
2 years of experience in the financial industry with a focus on mortgage underwriting.
Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential.
Strong attention to detail and goal orientation with a track record of achieving performance targets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service and decisionmaking abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Sound knowledge of banking systems and the ability to identify and resolve complex issues with a high degree of judgment.
Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) to communicate with both Englishspeaking and Frenchspeaking clients.
