Registered Nurse - Labor And Delivery

Elite Staffing Network is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) in support of the Labor and Delivery Unit at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune NC.

Work Schedule:
Sunday Saturday 12 and 8 hour shifts overnight shifts only.

Work some weekends

Job Specific Details and Tasks: The duties for the HCW include but are not limited to the following:

* Perform monitoring of 500 to 950 triage patients per month including continuous fetal monitoring spontaneous rupture of membrane check labor check prolonged monitoring rule out preterm labor decreased fetal movement and Pregnancy Induced Hypertension.

* Perform monitoring of 210 inpatients per month including continuous fetal monitoring vital signs and assessment q1560min and labor checks/cervical exams.

* Provide management of Pregnancy Induced Hypertension patients.

* Provide intravenous management (fluids Pitocin Magnesium Sulfate antibiotics and insulin).

* Perform lab draws.

* Provide pain management (monitor patient status on continuous laboring epidurals intravenous narcotics and emotional support).

* Assist the provider with inductions.

* Perform vaginal delivery procedures (pushing delivery recovery etc.).

* Assist the provider with operative vaginal delivery procedures.

* Perform preop for Csections.

* Perform procedures for transition of normal newborn (NRP as needed bath shots assessment breastfeeding assistance).

* Provide stabilization for transport of highrisk patients.

* Provide patient/family teaching.

* Support Csection deliveries as circulating nurse in the OR.

* Provide post anesthesia care for patients who have received epidural spinal or general anesthesia.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Education: Possess a Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). As an alternative to the education requirements in the basic contract the HCW may be a graduate of a state accredited professional nursing program OR a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.

* Experience: Must have at least 1 year experience in the past five years in a Labor and Delivery Unit.

* Licensure:Current unrestricted RN license from any state.

* Life Support Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS/ACLS certifications. Must have a NRP certificate.

* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
