Job Description

Junior Financial Systems Analyst

Our client in the insurance industry is looking for a Junior Financial Systems Analyst to join their dynamic team for an 8month contract with a high possibility of extension or conversion to a fulltime role based on performance and project needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a chief architect and specialized teams on special projects aimed at improving and developing financial systems. Your contributions will directly impact the success of projects focused on insurance policy valuation and financial risk management.

What is in it for you:

Hourly salary of $22 to $29 based on experience.
8month contract with the potential for extension.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Hybrid work: 3 office days from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:

Model Review and Implementation:

Reviewing insurance policy valuation model documents.
Translating complex mathematical and actuarial concepts into technical documentation.
Implementing calculations in Python code.

Testing and Validation:

Testing the valuation model implemented in Python to ensure accuracy and reliability.

System Maintenance:

Assisting senior team members in maintaining and supporting existing financial risk management systems.

What you will need to succeed:

Degree in Mathematics Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
Strong foundation in mathematics computer science or engineering.
Proficiency in Python with the ability to write reusable testable and efficient code.
Familiarity with Excel R SQL and VBA.
Basic understanding of actuarial principles and insurance concepts.
Analytical mindset with strong problemsolving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to thrive under pressure eager to learn and a strong team player.
Actuarial experience or knowledge (nice to have).
