Job Description

External Sales Representative

R25k/month Neg

Based in Johannesburg Boksburg

Our client that specializes in Industrial hoses is seeking an External Sales Representative(s) for their Boksburg branch. They are looking for motivated individuals with a proven track record in sales particularly within the Hose industry. As an External Sales Representative you will be responsible for generating leads engaging clients negotiating sales agreements and achieving sales targets.

Roles And Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Generation:
    • Identify and qualify potential clients through various channels including cold calling networking events and online research.
    • Generate leads and build a robust sales pipeline for the assigned territory.
  2. Client Engagement:
    • Conduct facetoface meetings presentations and product demonstrations with potential clients.
    • Understand client needs and recommend appropriate products or services to meet those needs.
    • Build and maintain longterm relationships with clients through regular communication and followups.
  3. Sales Negotiation:
    • Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements ensuring a winwin situation for both the client and the company.
    • Provide accurate and timely price quotes proposals and contracts to prospective clients.
  4. Market Research:
    • Stay informed about industry trends competitors and market conditions.
    • Analyse market data to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of industry changes.
  5. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    • Work closely with internal teams such as marketing product development and customer support to ensure seamless communication and effective problem resolution.
    • Assist with all branches stocktakes. If required after hours.
  6. Sales Reporting:
    • Keep detailed records of sales activities customer interactions and transactions.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance and achievements.
  7. Achievement of Sales Targets:
    • Set and achieve sales targets as outlined by the company.
    • Continuously strive to exceed sales goals and contribute to the overall growth of the organization.
  8. Call Cycle Management:
    • Develop a strategic plan for regular outreach to potential and existing clients.
    • Create a weekly or monthly schedule outlining the timing and frequency of client calls.
    • Implement a systematic approach to follow up with leads and clients at predetermined intervals.
    • Gather feedback from client interactions and adjust the call cycle strategy accordingly.
  9. Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed records of client interactions including call summaries and action items.
    • Document client preferences concerns and key information for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Matric qualification.
  • Computer literate.

Requirements:

  • Selfdriven and motivated.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Honest and possess a stable employment history.
  • Knowledge of the Nelspruit area and surroundings.
  • 5 years of experience in external sales in the flexible plastics industry.
  • Knowledge of extrusion process/industry.
  • Fluent in English; Afrikaans and/or Zulu would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work unsupervised with high work ethics.
  • Ability to source business from cold calling to concluding the sale independently.
  • Willingness to travel within Gauteng province and occasionally outside.
  • Strong selfmanagement capability and a team player.
  • Wellestablished sales representative selfstarter to hit the ground running.
