Marine Superintendent

Our multinational client in the shipping industry is expanding its operations. Comaea Consulting is assisting in the search for a Marine Superintendent to support this growth strategy.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager you will be a key member in the ashore team incharge of managing the operations and performance of vessels assigned. Your key role is to ensure efficient and safe operations of the company s vessels quality management and that all international marine requirements are adhered.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing support to the vessel to ensure safety of the vessel cargo navigation and other marine operational matters.
  
• Keep abreast and update with new rules regulations and legislations applicable to vessels.
  
• Coordinate with vessel crews and shorebased teams to ensure smooth operations.
  
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  
• Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews as needed.
  
• Manage budgeting and cost control for assigned vessels.
  
• Assist HSSE Manager to conduct HSSE Visit Internal Audit Navigation audit and Security Audits at local facilities.
  
• Document records and report all matters concerning HSSE issues.
  
• Conduct and compile management visit report to all vessels in the fleets
  
• Planning and allocation of resources setting processes implementing improvement plans in a rigorous and structured way for planned and routine maintenance of the ships under your charge
  

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Navigation Marine Engineering or related field.
  
• At least 12 months of sailing experience as Master on Gas Carriers.
  
• 12 years of experience working as a Marine Superintendent in Operations managing Gas carriers is preferred.
  
• Fresh Masters looking to make a transition ashore may apply.
  
• Have sound understanding of technical knowledge principles practices and regulations.
  
• Proficient in Shipboard ISM/ISPS code Marine insurance and Seamanship.
  
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development.
  
• Business acumen and budget management capability.
  
• Excellent communication organization and multitasking abilities.
  
• Uptodate knowledge of regulatory requirements and implementation.
