Draughtsman

Job Summary:

The Draughtsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans used in construction engineering manufacturing or architectural projects. This role involves interpreting specifications working closely with engineers and architects and ensuring that drawings are precise compliant with industry standards and meet project requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong technical drawing skills a keen eye for detail and proficiency in relevant CAD software.

• Prepare detailed drawings blueprints and plans based on specifications provided by engineers architects or clients.
  
• Use ComputerAided Design (CAD) software to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings.Revise drawings as needed based on feedback or changes in project specifications.
  
• Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards codes and regulations
  

• Work closely with engineers architects and other team members to understand project requirements and incorporate them into the design.
  
• Collaborate with other departments or external stakeholders to ensure that drawings are consistent with the overall project goals.
  
• Communicate effectively with team members to clarify design specifications and address any issues that may arise during the drafting process.
  

• Maintain accurate records of all drawings revisions and related documentation.
  
• Organize and archive drawings and project documents for easy retrieval and reference.
  
• Prepare reports and documentation to support project planning and implementation.
  

• Review and check drawings for accuracy completeness and adherence to specifications.
  
• Identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies in the drawings before submission or finalization.
  
• Ensure that all drawings meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time.
  

• Conduct site visits to gather measurements photographs and other necessary information to inform the drawing process.
  
• Take accurate measurements and convert them into detailed technical drawings.
  

• Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant building codes safety standards and regulations.
  
• Stay updated on changes in industry standards and incorporate them into your work.
  

• Stay current with the latest developments in CAD software and drafting techniques.
  
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  

• Provide technical support to engineers architects and other team members as needed.
  
• Assist in the preparation of presentations reports and other materials related to the project
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor of Technology degree in Drafting building technology design or a related field.
  
• 23 years of experience as a Draughtsman preferably in the construction engineering or architectural sectors.
  
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit) and other relevant design tools.
  
• Strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles building codes and industry standards.
  

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in site visits and field measurements.
  
• Knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g. SketchUp SolidWorks) is an advantage.
  
• Previous experience working on largescale projects is a plus.
