Nestled in between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Sea of Oman ShangriLas Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on 124 acres of stunning scenery and home to three spectacular hotels: the family orientated Al Waha comprises 262 rooms the diverse Al Bandar comprises 198 deluxe rooms and the luxurious and most exclusive Al Husn has 180 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites. The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets 1056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms a wide variety of recreational facilities and a spa with 12 treatment villas.

Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced MICE Sales Manager to join our team and drive our sales & conversion strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales management a deep understanding of global markets and the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.

The MICE Sales Manager will handle group sales for a designated market at ShangriLa Muscat. This person is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms meeting space and other services to customer groups managing accounts and conducting site inspections soliciting and generating business. Duties include preparing and presenting effective proposals maintaining well organized documentation and reports utilizing systems and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate. The manager will also participate and may lead sales and other staff meetings. This person will also work as a team member with the sales and catering staff and in close contact with assigned Sales Coordinator and other support staff.

As a MICE Sales Manager we rely on you to

Selling guest rooms meeting space and other services to customer groups managing accounts and conducting site inspections solicits and generates business.

Preparing and presenting effective and detailed proposals maintaining well organized documentation and reports utilizes systems and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate.

Organize and participate in client entertainment/FAMTRIP special promotions tours site inspections and tradeshows/conferences.

Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments.

Accurately prepares Requests for Proposals in a timely manner.

Maximize sales occupancy and rates in conjunction with hotel operations to increase profits.

Prospect new business using a wide variety of sales methods including but not limited to phone calls outside sales calls attending tradeshow and conferences and active participation within the industry to strengthen and expand customer base.

Generate and secure business through aggressive sales efforts that will include proactive solicitation of national and local corporate business.

Establish and build successful relationships that generate sales opportunities.

Effectively communicate client requirements ensuring all information is accurate between client and hotel.

Ensures business is turned over accurately and in a timely manner to ensure highlevel service delivery.

Analyze and conduct market research to fully understand competitive set market conditions and current trends to maximize revenue.

Negotiate prepare and execute contracts that meet the hotels business plan objectives.

Assist Director of Events & MICE in the preparation of annual marketing plan including the action plans covering assigned market segments.

Participate in sales and event meetings and other staff meetings as needed.

Problem solve and develop solutions to meet clients important requirements/needs.

Maintain or exceed sales goals as assigned by DOSM.

Assist the DOSM on special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel sales preferably within the GCC.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong understanding of markets and international business practices.
Excellent team management skills.
Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
Experience with CRM systems and sales performance metrics.
Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
