Job Description

OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Supervisor develops and implements preventative maintenance programs emergency work order solutions employee scheduling employee training employee discipline and employee accountability for work performed. The position is responsible to ensure the producibility of highvolume milk processing and packaging requirements.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.
  • Responsible for proper performance of the filling and processing equipment ensuring all output exceeds manufacturers design parameters.
  • Develop maintain and improve facility PLC systems and network.
  • Participates in developing and instituting training programs for both operators and maintenance technicians.
  • Participates in the design reconfiguration and maintenance of all equipment in plant to ensure proper conformance to all Regulations.
  • SQF Support Responsible for development training implementation and compliance to the SQF program.


OTHER REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain work time and materials records as well as keep shop parts inventories and general building maintenance.
  • Participates in developing spare part inventories
  • Assist maintenance technicians in performing repairs as needed.
  • Participate in training maintenance team members and other plant employees.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Two to five years in a leadership position.
  • Two to five years related experience with fluid processing experience preferred.
  • Two to five years of form fill & seal gable top carton experience corrugated packaging experience ammonia refrigeration experience high pressure steam experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • High level of reasoning ability to solve practical problems in situations where standardization may not exist. Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
  • Knowledge of PM procedures and standard repair procedures for industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and is a selfstarter.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have ability to regularly stand sit use hands and fingers reach with arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl around equipment.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to moving mechanical parts and small risk of electrical shock.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions often in wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Noise level requires hearing protection.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights.
  • Must have ability to work nights and weekends.
