Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Brentwood CA

Position Overview: The School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will work closely with students educators and parents to assess and treat speech language and communication disorders. The role involves creating and implementing individualized treatment plans that help students achieve academic and social success in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students speech language voice and fluency disorders.
    • Identify and diagnose communication disorders that impact students academic performance and social interactions.
    • Collaborate with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team to develop appropriate goals and interventions.
  2. Therapy and Intervention:

    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each students specific needs.
    • Provide direct therapy services to students utilizing evidencebased practices to address speech and language disorders.
    • Monitor and document student progress adjusting therapy approaches as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  3. Collaboration and Consultation:

    • Work closely with teachers special education staff and other related service providers to support student learning and communication in the classroom.
    • Provide consultation and training to educators and parents on strategies to support students speech and language development.
    • Participate in IEP meetings offering insights and recommendations for speech and language support.
  4. Documentation and Compliance:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments therapy sessions and student progress.
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to speech and language services in schools.
    • Prepare required reports and documentation for the school district and other regulatory bodies.
  5. Professional Development:

    • Stay updated on the latest research best practices and advancements in speechlanguage pathology.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Contribute to the school districts initiatives related to student health wellness and communication.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid California SpeechLanguage Pathology license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology (CCCSLP) preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescents in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of special education laws regulations and best practices related to speech and language services.
  • Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Work Schedule:

  • Fulltime position with a standard schoolyear calendar.
