Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support applications for chemical automation technologies.
• Transition software from development to commercialready prioritizing usability and reliability.
• Work with hardware and chemistry teams to design and refine automation technologies for chemical workflows.
• Enhance hardware and software components including automated synthesis analysis and sample handling systems.
• Collaborate with chemists and engineers to incorporate automation solutions into lab workflows.
• Develop and test experimental protocols for new automation technologies.
• Oversee the integration of automation software with existing laboratory equipment and processes.
• Prepare and deliver research presentations including data visualizations to both technical and general audiences.
• Work with computer science teams on data management and visualization projects.
• Contribute to the preparation of grant proposals and technical manuscripts.
• Adhere to safety protocols including chemical handling environmental management and maintaining safety records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Software Engineering Automation Engineering Chemistry Chemical Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 4 years of experience in developing and implementing automation technologies ideally within a chemistry or laboratory setting.
• Skilled in Python C C# Linux and Windows .NET environments.
• Experienced in API integration code debugging and designing automated chemistry workflows including selfdriving labs.
• Familiar with UPLC/HPLC instruments and Chromatography Data Systems.
• Strong skills in communication presentation and teamwork.
• Excellent at problemsolving analysis and project management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).
