Mechatronics Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design prototype and improve new automation technologies for selfdriving labs.
• Enhance the reliability and flexibility of hardware/software modules including automated chemical synthesis and analysis systems.
• Collaborate with chemists and engineers to integrate automation into workflows.
• Develop and test experimental protocols for new technologies.
• Integrate automation systems with existing lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot maintain and upgrade automation platforms including robotic and analytical systems.
• Create research presentations with clear data visualizations.
• Work with computer science teams on data and visualization.
• Assist in preparing grant proposals and manuscripts.
• Follow safety protocols including chemical handling and environmental management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechatronics Robotics Automation Engineering Chemistry or similar.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 4 years of experience in automation design and implementation preferably in a lab setting.
• Proficient in Python API integration and code debugging.
• Skilled with CAD software like SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
• Strong electronics and lab equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Familiar with UPLC/HPLC instruments and chromatography data systems.
• Excellent communication presentation and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).
