Security Engineer

Job Description:

The Security Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing security measures to protect the organizations computer networks and systems. You will monitor for security breaches conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats technologies and best practices along with the ability to respond to and mitigate security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design implement and maintain security measures to protect IT systems networks and data.
• Monitor security events detect potential threats and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments penetration testing and security audits to identify weaknesses in the IT infrastructure.
• Develop and implement security policies procedures and guidelines in alignment with industry standards.
• Configure and manage security tools including firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and antivirus software.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the secure design and deployment of systems and applications.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends threats and technologies and apply this knowledge to improve the organizations security posture.
• Provide technical expertise and support in security architecture risk management and security operations.
• Train and educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and policies.
• Document security procedures incidents and changes for compliance and future reference.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards such as GDPR HIPAA or ISO 27001.
• Work with external auditors and vendors to address security concerns and enhance the organizations security capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Minimum of 35 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security engineering.
• Strong understanding of security principles techniques and technologies including firewalls IDS/IPS encryption and SIEM.
• Experience with security tools and platforms such as Splunk Palo Alto Cisco or similar.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python PowerShell or Bash.
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to think critically in highpressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP CEH CISM or CompTIA Security are preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards such as GDPR HIPAA or ISO 27001 is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
