Job Description

Overview:

The role of an Optometrist in Giridih Jharkhand is essential in providing primary eye care services to the community. They play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating visual problems and eye diseases as well as prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses to improve patients vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assessments.
  • Diagnose visual problems and eye diseases.
  • Prescribe and fit corrective lenses or provide other vision aids.
  • Evaluate patients visual health and provide appropriate treatment plans.
  • Manage and maintain patient records accurately.
  • Provide pre and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgeries.
  • Monitor and manage treatment plans for patients with chronic eye conditions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in optometry.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards in optometric practice.
  • Provide guidance and support to optical staff.
  • Contribute to the development of eye health awareness programs.
  • Participate in community outreach and education events.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
  • Valid state optometry license in Jharkhand.
  • Proven experience in optometric practice.
  • Strong knowledge of eye health vision care and related industry trends.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex eyerelated issues.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detailoriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a teambased environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Sound ethical judgment and integrity.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring optical staff is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and handle a diverse patient base.
