CAD Manager AutoCAD Electrical Design

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the CAD team providing guidance and technical expertise
• Oversee the creation modification and maintenance of electrical design drawings using AutoCAD
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure design specifications are met
• Supervise the implementation of standard drawing practices and ensure adherence to quality standards
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for CAD software and design projects
• Manage and prioritize project deadlines and allocate resources effectively
• Develop and optimize CAD processes and workflows to enhance efficiency
• Train and mentor CAD staff in best practices and software utilization
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to electrical design and CAD software
• Participate in project meetings to review designs schedules and project status
• Coordinate with external vendors and consultants for specialized design needs
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in design documentation
• Manage the documentation and filing of design drawings and associated records

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering ComputerAided Design or related field
• Proven experience in AutoCAD Electrical design and drafting with a strong understanding of electrical systems
• Demonstrated expertise in project management and leadership of CAD teams
• Indepth knowledge of relevant electrical codes standards and design practices
• Proficiency in technical documentation and drawing control
• Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot CADrelated issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with crossfunctional teams
• Experience in training and mentoring CAD staff in software utilization and best practices
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and simulation tools is a plus
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and its integration with CAD software
• Understanding of electrical components schematics and wiring diagrams
• Adherence to industry best practices for data management and security
• Certifications in AutoCAD or related software applications are desirable
• Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector is a plus
