Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and creative Bakery Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing bakery items desserts and other sweet products. The Bakery Chef will ensure that all products are made to the highest quality and will contribute to the creation of new menu items to delight our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of Bakery Items: Prepare and bake desserts following established recipes and standards.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and develop new bakery items ensuring they align with the restaurant s brand and customer expectations.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality presentation and taste ensuring consistency in every product.
  • Inventory Management: Manage bakery inventory including ordering supplies controlling stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of bakery items.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that all bakery products meet customer expectations and dietary requirements where applicable.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the proper maintenance and handling of bakery equipment ensuring it remains in good working condition.
  • Cost Control: Manage food costs by optimising ingredient usage and controlling portions.


Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Bakery Chef Pastry Chef or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques ingredients and equipment.
  • Creative flair and passion for creating highquality baked goods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

  • The candidate should possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Commerce (MCom) or an intermediate qualification in Chartered Accountancy (CA Inter). They should be aged 30 or above. They must have demonstrable experience in an accounting or auditing role, preferably within the hospitality industry. A thorough understanding of accounting and auditing principles, tax regulations, and reporting standards is a must.
