Role Summary


The Senior Manager of Finance & Shared Services will work as a member of the Leadership Team providing strategic advice and subject matter expertise. Incumbent will oversee the financial operations of the organisation. Work closely with management to develop and implement strategies and plans to achieve the company s longterm objectives.


Primary responsibilities include preparation of financial records on a cloudbased accounting software and related technology stacks assisting in handling full cycle of accounting and bookkeeping and managers direct reports of various functions (A/P A/R etc.)


Reporting Structure


This role will report to the Executive Director of Finance Operations & Shared Services



Critical Accountabilities


  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analysing its performance and risks

  • Lead the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements

  • Maintaining records according to Canadian generally accepted accounting principles including the recording of general journal entries accounts payable accounts receivable cash management and reconciliation of bank statements

  • Preparing HST/GST/QST/PST tax returns as needed

  • Ensuring deliverables/assignments (A/R A/P Payroll Invoicing) is handled in accordance with policies and expectations

  • Working with external accountants to provide information as required to produce year end financial reports and corporate tax returns

  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis

  • Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives

  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines

  • Lead in the preparation and final review of the annual budget

  • Assist with developing policies and procedures leading to strong internal controls


Qualification & Experience


  • Must haves:

    • Strong communication (English)

    • Canada based

    • CPA

    • 5 years experience at a senior level

    • Corporate Finance / Significant P&L Experience

    • Multi company consolidations

  • Nice to haves:

    • Operational experience/ Experience with Big 4 accounting firms

    • Experience with creating financial statements and the monthend/year end close process

    • Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required as well as a track record of reliability confidentiality and conscientious work habits

    • Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions

    • Intercompany & transfer pricing exposure

    • US experience


Compensation


  • Market Base Rate




Qualification & Experience Education: Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or equivalent designation is an asset. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related role. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling; experience with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is preferred. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across departments. Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
