In this role you will be part of Technology and Solutions Development for HVDC applications which is
responsible for the development of new HVDC and SVC converter valves. HVDC converter valves are
used to convert AC to DC and vice versa and are essential for HVDC power transmissions. SVC
converter valves are used in SVC systems to support and stabilize AC systems. The department you will
be part of is mainly focusing on electrical and mechanical design and development activities and works in
close collaboration with the global HVDC organization.
As a Sr. Fatigue engineer your main tasks will be to execute fatigue evaluation and simulations for critical R&D projects. You will also be involved in studies and new product
development and you will support R&D teams on simulation designs and provide technical guidance.
The team you will be joining are composed by energetic people with mix of experienced and young
engineers and colleagues from diverse nationalities around the world. We work closely with design teams
and collaborate with engineering and research teams in Sweden and abroad therefore it is essential that
you are a team player and have great collaboration and communication skills.
1. Understand and identify the current and future OWC product challenges and implement effective solutions
HV equipment fatigue evaluation and design quality control
2. Independently execute HV equipment fatigue evaluate
3. Proactively provide design suggestions in R&D projects and update relevant technologies and solutions in OWC industry
4. Technology leader provide experience and expertise in projects and Support HE in OWC standards advocacy
5. Coaching the junior engineers
6. Design fatigue test to validate the simulation results
7.Drive failure analysis RCA (Root cause analysis) and design of experiments (DOE).
1. Excellent expertise in finite element method (FEM) simulation using Abaqus or ANSYS.
2. Ability to design and set up mechanical experiments to validate simulation results and investigate material properties and structural performance.
3. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a track record of addressing complex structural and fatigue issues.
4. Indepth knowledge of industrial standards for electrical equipment design or naval structure fatigue design.
5. Over 10 years of handson experience in the design and analysis of naval structures ensuring compliance with industry standards and addressing specific fatigue and structural mechanics challenges.
6. Masters or PhD in applied/fatigue Mechanics structural engineering
7.Good collaboration and communication skills to thrive in multicultural environment.
8. Innovative & creative thinking ability.
Fluency in English both written and spoken
