We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Technical Solutions Engineer to join our marine sales support team. In this role you will be responsible for analyzing technical inquiry documents developing detailed technical specifications and creating comprehensive documentation packages for system project sales in the marine industry. As a key technical expert within the sales team you will play a crucial role in ensuring our offerings meet customer needs while also contributing to ongoing development projects and participating in customer visits and ship surveys when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Analysis: Evaluate and interpret technical inquiries from customers and sales representatives.
  • CrossDepartment Communication: Liaise with R&D Supply Chain and other departments to gather product technology and cost information.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product management engineering teams and other stakeholders to determine the most feasible technical solutions.
  • Documentation Preparation: Develop and prepare detailed technical documentation including system descriptions for system project quotations.
  • Materials & Deviation Lists: Create materials lists and identify potential deviations for system project quotations.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in customer meetings and ship surveys to provide technical expertise and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about the latest industrial standards and regulations reporting on relevant findings.
  • External Communication: Coordinate with thirdparty representatives suppliers and designers as needed.
  • Project Handover: Assist in the preparation of project handover documentation to ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation.

Success Factors:

  • Technical Acumen: Strong ability to learn and understand Evac products and associated technologies.
  • Project Insight: Basic understanding of delivery project business and project engineering processes.
  • Design Proficiency: Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD MS Visio and 3D design software.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in ship design process engineering or related fields. Understanding & interpreting Technical Specifications Drawings and Codes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Customer Focus: A strong customer service attitude with a focus on both internal and external clients.
  • International Mindset: Ability to thrive in an international environment.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; Finnish &additional language skills are a plus.
  • Marine Expertise: Prior experience in shipbuilding or offshore projects is highly desirable.

    Travel Requirements:

    This position may require occasional travel for ship visits and customer meetings.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Degree in Engineering (Machinery Process or Shipbuilding).
    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an engineering field such as ship layout design mechanical engineering or process engineering.
