Job Description
The Network Engineer III will be responsible for evaluating network cabling infrastructure primarily within chemical plant environments. This role involves collaborating with site contacts and thirdparty vendors to assess and upgrade fiber and copper network infrastructure ensuring alignment with Oxys current standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Core Infrastructure Design: Designing core infrastructure layouts using industry standards best practices regulatory codes and sitespecific safety requirements. This includes power management network equipment and network connectivity.
- Documentation & Technical Specifications: Create detailed documentation and technical specifications for both current and future state cabling/power infrastructure environments.
- Improvement Identification: Identify areas of improvement in network path redundancy power management and the organization of MDF/IDF room locations.
- Collaboration & Scheduling: Work closely with the network team and site contacts to prioritize and schedule necessary site work.
- Materials & Equipment Management: Identify and procure the necessary materials and equipment and develop/review bills of materials required to complete projects.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee and review the work performed conducting testing and inspections to ensure QA objectives are met.
Requirements:
- RCDD Certification: Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) with a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience.
- Cisco Experience: At least 2 years of handson experience working with Cisco routers and switches.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of fiber optic design and category cabling.
- Project Management: Proven experience in project management including defining scope objectives and timelines related to infrastructure design work.
