Maintenance Technician

• Reduce maintenance repair and preventive maintenance costs.
  
• Develop plans to reduce breakdownrelated downtime.
  
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  
• Minimize downtime associated with repairs.
  
• Complete and file all required maintenance documents.
  
• Communicate effectively with other departments and shifts.
  
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance activities timely.
  
• Participate in continuous improvement and 8D problemsolving processes.
  
• Perform other assigned duties.
  

Key Performance Measures:

• Downtime for assigned machines and equipment.
  
• Cost reduction for repair and maintenance.
  
• Completion of required maintenance records.
  
• Plant appearance relative to oil leaks and floor cleanliness.
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Reading and math skills (7th9th grade level).
  
• 13 years of plastic industry maintenance experience including hydraulics and pneumatics.
  
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and supply own tools.
  
• Valid hilo license.
  
• Knowledge of state and federal environmental and OSHA laws preferred.
  
• Good performance record.
  
• Demonstrate competency through testing and job performance after training.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Regular use of hands standing walking sitting and reaching.
  
• Occasionally climb balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
  
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs regularly.
  
• Specific vision abilities required.
  

Flexibility:

• May require afterhours phone calls or assignments.
