Job Description

Job Overview

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for providing efficient and costeffective purchasing of goods under trade category from local and foreign suppliers while adhering to budget parameters.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Acquires quotation from local and foreign suppliers under the trade category evaluate and compare the prices and award the purchase order to winning suppliers.
  • Prepares purchase orders under the trade goods category from local and foreign suppliers.
  • Negotiates contract terms agreement and pricing.
  • Communicates with local and foreign principals regarding status of purchase orders.
  • Coordinates with accounting department regarding payment to suppliers.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepares report regarding the status of received purchase requisition.
  • Tracks cost difference between estimated landed cost vs actual landed cost on delivered orders.
  • Prepares daily submission tracking for all delivered purchase orders.
  • Helps in preparation of purchasing reports.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased goods.
  • Observes/complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Graduate of Bachelors / College Degree in Business Administration Customs Administration Logistics / Transportation Engineering (Industrial) or equivalent.
  • Proven working experience as a Purchasing Officer Buyer or Purchaser.
  • Extensive knowledge on sourcing and buying activities.
  • Experience in negotiations and networking.
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third partymanagement software.

Competency Requirements:

  • Knowledge on importation and its documentation.
  • Ability to manage large supplier base.
  • Good knowledge in SAP B1.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills with attention to details.
  • Above average English communication skills both oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with staff at various level and Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
