About the role

Our client in the Engineering Culture team part of Platform Engineering is seeking an expert engineer to join their efforts in enabling 3000 internal developers to deliver software with speed and quality. They foster an innovative inclusive culture that promotes diversity and continuous learning.

Your role as an expert will focus on:

1. Leading the development and advocacy of our internal developer portal Backstage
2. Driving Backstages technical direction for secure scalable and maintainable operations
3. Crafting and implementing the product roadmap to address our engineers critical needs and pain points
4. Championing usercentric development practices
5. Mentoring team members and contributors elevating their technical and architectural skills
6. Providing senior engineering perspectives in organizational discussions and projects

Were seeking an experienced professional who can:

• Demonstrate extensive handson experience with Backstage development in large international organizations
• Set and execute strategic roadmaps driving decisions from both technical and product standpoints
• Exhibit strong leadership empowering peers and fostering a culture of innovation
• Think strategically about technology and its impact on organizational efficiency
• Collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders at all levels

Our ideal candidate embodies the strategist and teacher archetypes more than a pure technologist. Your expertise will be crucial in establishing and enforcing highlevel engineering standards including advanced coding practices testing methodologies and deployment procedures.
