The Design Engineer will oversee the design of production machinery and will identify and recommend solutions to production problems related to materials processes and tooling.
- Designs tools and machines used to manufacture products.
- Designs products such as engines machines instruments controls or robots.
- Works with a design team to create design sketches layouts and plans.
- Uses computerassisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product.
- Reviews production program equipment hardware and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement.
- Oversees the development of new processes methods and production controls.
- Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design.
- Installs new equipment and ensures that it operates correctly; trains others to operate new machinery.
- Develops control systems and monitors production
- Maintains knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology equipment and applications; applies this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- At least 13 years of engineering experience required.
- Experience with 24VDC to 480VAC 3phase voltage required
- PLC programming experience required; experience with AllenBradley Siemens and/or Omron is a plus
- Experience with validations is a plus
- Experience working in an FDA regulated industry is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to handle strong mint odors
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.
