Information Security Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Information Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security practices and technologies with a focus on protecting sensitive information and ensuring the security of our IT infrastructure. As an Information Security Specialist you will play a critical role in safeguarding our companys data managing security systems and responding to potential threats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Monitoring & Incident Response:
  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches intrusions and irregular behavior using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents providing detailed analysis and reports on findings.
  • Develop and implement strategies for incident containment eradication and recovery.
• Vulnerability Management:
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify potential security risks.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure timely patching of systems and applications to protect against known threats.
• Security Systems Management:
  • Manage and maintain security tools and systems including firewalls Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and endpoint protection.
  • Implement and maintain encryption standards and protocols to protect sensitive data.
• Policy Development & Compliance:
  • Assist in the development implementation and enforcement of security policies standards and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g. GDPR HIPAA PCIDSS).
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to security policies and identify areas for improvement.
• Security Awareness & Training:
  • Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Develop and deliver securityrelated training sessions to improve overall security posture.
• Threat Intelligence & Risk Management:
  • Analyze and respond to emerging threats staying informed of the latest security trends and vulnerabilities.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Information Security Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in information security network security or a related role.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in security technologies including firewalls IDS/IPS SIEM and endpoint protection.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and security standards.
  • Experience with vulnerability management and penetration testing tools.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR HIPAA and PCIDSS.
  • Knowledge of cloud security practices is a plus.
• Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP CISM CEH or CompTIA Security are preferred.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
