Sr Accountant

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role you will be responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions including general ledger activities financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting excellent analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger & Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee and manage the general ledger ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the monthend and yearend close processes including journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Compliance & Auditing:
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with auditors to resolve any issues.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts providing financial analysis and insights to support decisionmaking.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Accounts Management:
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed.
• Collaboration & Mentorship:
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support financial planning analysis and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff fostering their professional development.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 46 years of accounting experience preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks NetSuite SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities with the capacity to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues management and external parties.
