Montgomery County is located approximately twenty miles west of Center City Philadelphia PA. Montgomery County with nearly 861000 residents is the third most populated county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Introduction

Montgomery County Office of Senior Services (MCOSS) procures Psychologist services primarily to assist with the ongoing work of the Older Adult Protective Services (OAPS) unit. OAPS provides access to services necessary to protect the health safety and welfare of persons aged 60 and over who lack the capacity to protect themselves.

Background Investigation Requirements:

• Must complete background checks for any staff with consumer/patient contact.
• PA State Criminal Record Check (within one year prior to hire).
• FBI Background Check (if residence was outside of the state of PA in the last 2 years).
• It is strongly suggested that a PA Child Abuse History Clearance be obtained if regular contact with minors occurs in contracted work.
• Documentation of all record checks will be kept on file and available for review by MCOSS staff; it is recommended these checks reoccur every 5 years.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing.
• Must have at least 5 years related experience.
• Preference may be given to those with at least five years experience working with Area Agencies on Aging staff to assist with OAPS or other Care Management.
• Preference may be given to those with experience working with the Orphans Court to handle guardianship or emergency guardianship cases within Montgomery County.
• Must have the resources to respond and be available to OAPS staff on an emergent basis.
• Must have a basic familiarity with aging service delivery system in Montgomery County.
• Must be sensitive to traumatic experiences of consumers.
• Must have the ability to prioritize visits in Montgomery County as needed and as requested by OAPS unit.
• Must communicate with the OAPS unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provider will be contacted by phone or email and given consumer referral information.
• Provider will complete a visit to consumer address or address provided by the OAPS worker within 5 business days of referral or as determined by OAPS worker.
• Provider must retain documentation of permissions if visit is not completed within 5 business days.
• Provider will submit a report via securely encrypted email with a determination of capacity for the consumer to the OAPS worker within 3 business days of the visit or as prioritized by the OAPS unit.
• Provider will attend and testify at the consumers guardianship hearing either virtually or inperson.
• Provider will complete depositions as needed.
