Led by our Finance Director the team includes a skilled Financial Controller dedicated Accounts Assistants and other finance professionals. About the role:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing key financial processes including payroll reviews monthend close accounts payable and accounts receivable. The role will also involve acting as a business partner to various central functions building strong relationships and understanding how to support business decisions.

Key goals and objectives:

  • Implement streamlined processes for accounts payable and accounts receivable to enhance efficiency.

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive financial reports and analyses to support strategic decisionmaking.

  • Enhance the accuracy and timeliness of monthend financial reporting.

  • Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.


In your first three months you will:

  • Understand how Vintage Cash Cow operates and what drives the revenue and cost of the business

  • Observe the management accounts process and start to take ownership of the balance sheet and P&L preparation

  • Get to know the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

  • Introduce yourself to the central heads of departments to start building the business partnering relationships

  • Work closely with the financial controller and interim finance manager to understand the finance processes

  • Work with the People Team to understand the payroll process

In your first six months you will:

  • Take ownership of the management accounts processes to hit month end deadline of working day 6

  • Contribute to board reports and management accounts reports with insightful analysis around KPIs and key business levers

  • Lead balance sheet reconciliation processes ensuring a good understanding of the business assets and liabilities

  • Manage 2 team members in accounts payable and accounts receivable including monthly 121s and support to improve and streamline the processes

  • Provide useful information to central heads of departments for IT Operations and the People Team

  • Review and manage bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and to challenge where needed

  • Work closely with the financial controller to drive improvements in processes and ensure policies are in place


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthend management accounts process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

  • Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Analyse P&L variances to support commentary and recommendations

  • Review monthly payroll to ensure accurate payment check payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies with the People Team

  • Manage a team of 2 in the AP and AR functions ensuring efficient processing and accurate recordkeeping

  • Act as the finance business partner to central functions such as the People Team IT and Operations

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets forecasts and financial plans

  • Support adhoc projects and initiatives as required

  • Be a key player in the annual statutory audit

Essential skills and experience:

  • Part qualified or finalist in CIMA / ACCA or other suitable accounting qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role with team management experience

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards

Desirable skills and nice to haves:

  • Experience with ERP systems beyond Sage 50 or Sage 200

  • Experience in a similar industry such as ecommerce

  • Salary:45000 to 50000 DOE.
