Job Description

Job Summary:
The Senior HR & Legal Officer will oversee human resources functions ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations and provide legal support to the organization. This role involves managing HR policies handling complex employee relations issues and offering legal advice on various business matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements.
  • Address staff grievances and assist in handling disciplinary issues.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues and provide solutions.
  • Manage recruitment onboarding and employee performance management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice on employment contracts company policies and compliance issues.
  • Oversee HR and legal documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct HR audits and recommend improvements.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.


Requirements

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Law or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR and legal roles with a focus on trade and agriculture sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
