As a General Ledger Accountant your role will encompass the following responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts on a regular basis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- MonthEnd and YearEnd Closing: Participate in the monthend and yearend closing processes including preparing journal entries financial statements and reconciliations
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data investigate variances and provide explanations for any discrepancies or irregularities
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts resolve discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues
- Financial Auditing: Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and accounting operations
- Adherence to Policies: Ensure compliance with company policies accounting principles and relevant regulations
To excel in this role you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field
- Proven experience as a General Ledger Accountant or in a similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices including knowledge of GAAP and German HGB
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical skills with an acute attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- CPA certification is a plus but not required
