About the Role

Based in BYDs Sydney office in Macquarie Park this Junior Legal Counselrole will report to the Legal Counsel at BYD Australia Pty Ltd and working closely with other team members and various BYD stakeholders.

Your duties will include:

  • Assist in drafting reviewing and editing legal documents including contracts agreements and legal correspondence ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist in providing legal training and counseling to internal teams to enhance understanding of legal issues and compliance requirements.
  • Support Legal Counsel at BYD Australia Pty Ltd and collaborate with the BYD HQ legal team on legal compliance matters dispute resolution and litigation in Australia covering areas such as commercial law and product liability.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with various business units to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Contribute to implementing BYD HQs legal management principles and establishing local legal management systems including those related to contract dispute resolution and litigation management as well as risk and compliance management in coordination with the BYD APAS legal team.
  • Perform additional administrative and ad hoc duties as needed to support business operations.

Key requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Law.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin
  • Overseas education and/or work experience preferred.
  • Efficient work habits and be able to identify and resolve problems quickly.
  • Strong capability to work independently and crossfunctionally in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
