Job Description
Adelphi is seeking a dedicated and qualified Certified School Nurse to join a school district in Willingboro New Jersey. The CSN will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to students including those with special needs. They should be compassionate studentfocused and collaborate well with staff parents and healthcare providers.

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or Advanced education blending nursing and education
Certification as a school nurse
Valid RN license from the New Jersey Board of Nursing
CPR/BLS Certification
Expertise in student specific case management plans
Responsibilities:
Carrying out written orders of the medical home and standing orders of the school physician
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in accordance with state and federal regulations including HIPAA and FERPA.
Recommending to the school principal students who shall not be admitted to or retained in the
school building based on a parents failure to provide evidence of the childs immunization.
Annually reviewing student immunization records to confirm with the medical home that the medical condition for the exemption from immunization continues to be applicable.
Recommending to the school principal exclusion of students who show evidence of communicable disease.
Directing and supervising the emergency administration of epinephrine and glucagon and
training school staff designated to serve as delegates.
Administering asthma medication through the use of a nebulizer.
Directing and supervising the health services activities of any school staff to whom the certified school nurse has delegated a nursing task.
Providing classroom instruction in areas related to health education.
Writing and updating at least annually the individualized healthcare plans and the individualized emergency healthcare plans for students medical needs and instructing staff as appropriate.
Writing and updating at least annually any written healthcare provisions required under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 29 U.S.C. 794(a) for any student who requires them
Assisting in the development of and implementing healthcare procedures for students in the
event of an emergency
Other duties as assigned by the Head Nurse Building Principal and Department of Special
Services.
