CO2 Market Specialist

The CO2 Market Specialist will focus on developing and executing strategies to manage carbon emissions within our wastetoenergy operations. This role entails analyzing carbon markets guiding compliance with emissions regulations and identifying opportunities for carbon credits through our energy products and processes.

Tasks

• Analyze CO2 emissions data from wastetoenergy processes and develop reports for internal and regulatory purposes.
• Stay informed about the latest trends and regulations in the carbon market including carbon pricing trading and compliance policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to identify and implement strategies that reduce CO2 emissions and enhance carbon capture opportunities in wastetoenergy process.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the carbon market including regulatory bodies organizations and industry groups.
• Evaluate opportunities for carbon credit generation and develop proposals for participation in relevant carbon trading schemes.
• Prepare documentation and ensure compliance for carbon credit applications and reporting.
• Provide training and resources to internal teams on carbon market dynamics and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Sustainability Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 35 years of experience in carbon markets emissions management or sustainability consulting preferably in the energy or waste management sectors.
• Strong understanding of carbon accounting principles and greenhouse gas regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with various stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with carbon credit projects and familiarity with current market mechanisms.
• Knowledge of wastetoenergy processes and technologies.
• Certification in carbon management or sustainability (e.g. ISO 14064 LEED).
