Job Description

Job Description: Financial Reporting Specialist

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Degree in Accounting Finance Economics or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in fund administration with knowledge of financial reporting business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction at all levels of the organization and externally. Fluent English necessary; French or German considered an asset.
  • Proficient in desktop IT and systems skills. Experience with GP4 systems advantageous. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical organizational and coordination skills.

Main Duties:

  • Review Annual and Interim financial statements for Investment Funds under administration.
  • Organize and coordinate audits and production of financial statements.
  • Act as the main contact for auditors during audit cycles ensuring smooth communication within Northern Trust departments.
  • Deliver highquality service to clients through accurate timely completion of all assigned tasks and requests for information with close attention to detail.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients auditors and other parties both internally (locally with other departments and on EMEA level with other FR teams) and externally.
  • Ensure agreed client service levels and regulatory filing deadlines are met.
  • Continuously seek to improve service offerings by reviewing work practices and past audits to identify and eliminate inefficiencies increase productivity and enhance controls.
  • Act as an effective team member by sharing knowledge and offering assistance as appropriate.
  • Review legal documents Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and new business proposals from a Financial Reporting perspective.
  • Work closely with Team Leader and Managers on various processes/projects including taking the lead or assisting in implementing new processes to help the team achieve its goals and KPIs.
  • Perform additional tasks as required appropriate to the role and business needs.
  • Proactively identify areas of concern and suggest enhancements to procedures where weaknesses or potential efficiencies are identified demonstrating a clear and riskbased approach to outsourcing arrangements.
